Winter Storm Warning — Thundersnow for Texas Panhandle

A winter storm warning is in effect from Sunday evening through Monday for the Texas Panhandle with up to 7 inches (18 cm) of snow expected.

The warning covers the Southwestern and West Central Texas Panhandle and includes the cities of Hartley, Channing, Dumas, Vega, Amarillo, Hereford, Canyon, and Palo Duro Canyon.

Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will cause patchy blowing and drifting snow. Visibility could be reduced below 1 mile at times.

Thundersnow is also in the forecast as a brutal arctic front descends unseasonably south.
