Whistler Breaks All-Time Snowfall Record

Daily statistics compiled by the mountain reveal a whopping 384 cm (12.6 ft) of fresh snow fell last month at Whistler, Vancouver — beating the all-time record for the month of December, set in 1994 (solar minimum of cycle 22), by four centimetres.

And the snow continues to accumulate in 2019 — 74 cm (2.4 ft) fell in a 24 hour period last week, forcing the closure of the Mountain’s main highway.

Whistler Blackcomb has now seen a total of 627 cm (20.6 ft) of power this season. With yet more in the forecast, the Mountain will likely be breaking all-time season-records soon.

Stay tuned for updates.
