The Glaciers Outliving the Environmentalist who spent his Career Predicting their Imminent Doom

Glacier National Park (GNP) has experienced some of its coldest and snowiest winters on record in recent years, and now the signs claiming all its glaciers would be gone by 2020 are quietly coming down (see link below).

The glaciers of GNP have been the subject of countless media stories and at least one book, The Melting World: A Journey Across America’s Vanishing Glaciers, which was written to chronicle the “the first extinction of a mountain ecosystem in what is expected to be a series of such global calamities as humanity faces the prospect of a world without alpine ice.”

Melting World follows Daniel Fagre, a USGS Global Warming expert and the figure most associated with the ‘2020’ number. Fagre had told the book’s author back in 2008 that all the glaciers would be gone in 10 to 12 years, and his prophecy has been quoted in every single catastrophe-leaning media outlet ever since. The man is also responsible for the infamous comparison photos, which go back to a visit by former Vice President —and don-of-doom— Al Gore during the Clinton administration.

Back in 1991, Fagre was hired to start the “climate change research program” and wrote a proposal to use the glaciers of GNP to monitor the impact of global warming — somehow, despite no geology degree, Fagre was considered a glacier expert by the United States Geological Survey.

And now, almost 30 years down the line, it turns out Fagre got things spectacularly wrong.

The self-proclaimed expert’s much-quoted prophecy is far from coming true.

The glaciers have simply refused to die. Instead, most actually appear to be growing again.

The glaciers of Glacier National Park are destined to outlive the environmentalist who’s spent the bulk of his career predicting their imminent doom.

Daniel Fagre has a BA in Environmental Science, an MS and a PhD in Animal Ecology, and a Gold Star in Scaremongering Horse Shit. For a much more in-depth look at the GNP glacial retreat debacle, click here for Danial Greenwood’s article at https://www.frontpagemag.com.

GNP glaciers have been advancing again in recent years, neatly correlating with our star’s relative shutdown as it begins its next Grand Solar Minimum cycle:

The cold times are returning in line with historically low solar activity.
