Pakistan Reports Record November Snowfall
Lower Dir, a district in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan, was gripped by extreme cold weather and heavy snowfall over the weekend which is forecast to continue into Monday.
Over the weekend, the mercury in the district plunged to minus two degrees and more than three feet of snow was logged in Kumrat and Kohistan with Naran experiencing snowfall of up to two feet — these were record totals for the month, according to a report by samaa.tv (shown below).
Multiple roads were blocked by the snow, and while many tourists still managed flock to the area to experience the winter wonderland, six people, including cattle, required rescuing at Ganshan Sar after getting trapped.
Other areas to the north such as Chitral, Mansehra, Abbottabad, parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Nathiagali experienced their first snowfall of the season along with biting winds.
In Chitral, over three feet of snow was also recorded over the last two days.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, “thundersnow” is expected in Islamabad, Upper and Central Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa throughout the week.
Stay tuned for updates.
The COLD TIMES are returning, the mid-latitudes are REFREEZING in line with historically low solar activity, cloud-nucleating Cosmic Rays, and a meridional jet stream flow.
Both NOAA and NASA appear to agree, if you read between the lines, with NOAA saying weâre entering a âfull-blownâ Grand Solar Minimum in the late-2020s, and NASA seeing this upcoming solar cycle (25) as âthe weakest of the past 200 yearsâ, with the agency correlating previous solar shutdowns to prolonged periods of global cooling here.
Furthermore, we canât ignore the slew of new scientific papers stating the immense impact The Beaufort Gyre could have on the Gulf Stream, and therefore the climate overall.
Prepare accordinglyâ learn the facts, relocate if need be, and grow your own.
