Icelandic Glaciers are Expanding For the First Time in Decades — Grand Solar Minimum

According to researchers from the University of Iceland, ALL Icelandic glaciers are projected to expand this year, making it the first time the glaciers wouldn’t have shrunk year-on-year in a quarter of a century.

The researchers were shocked by the discovery that all of Iceland’s glaciers, including Vatnajökull, Langjökull, Hofsjökull and Mýrdalsjökull, have expanded in the last twelve months, from autumn to autumn. With Mýrdalsjökull showing a really “significant addition of ice this year.”

“[This] is unusual over the last 25 years,” said project manager Finnur Pálsson.

Langjökull had been losing around one and a half meters of ice per year for the past twenty years, “but in the last few years he has been close to zero, that is, he has neither expanded nor diminished. And that applies to this year, both for Vatnajökull and Langjökull as well,” said Pálsson.

Pálsson looks for answers.

He rambles a little about global warming, stating even though it’s cold and the glaciers are growing that that should be no reason to doubt global warming…? But then he finishes with these nuggets:

“It is a fact that it has been colder the last few years. And there was more snowfall in August on the upper part of Langjökull, which is very unusual.”

Huh…

Earth’s climate isn’t linear, it’s cyclical

If you’re bold enough to dump the AGW theory for a minute and bring solar activity into the mix instead, you’ll quickly solve the mystery of Iceland’s expanding glaciers.

Our star has just exited the Modern Maximum –a 30-or-so year period of high solar activity– and is now on the slide back down.

The solar cycle just completed (24) was the weakest in over 100 years and the Earth is once again cooling as a result.

And it isn’t just Iceland’s glaciers experiencing expansion — Greenland and the Arctic have also gained ice over the last three years, 45% ore than normal in fact (click the Live Data Sets tab above). And by late Nov 2018, Hudson Bay was already 40% iced up.

A recent sobering presentation by Professor Valentina Zharkova suggests a new Super Grand Solar Minimum will begin in 2020.

The last time we had a Grand Solar Minimum (the Maunder Minimum 1645-1715) only two magnetic fields of the sun went out of phase.

This time, Zharkova’s analysis shows all four magnetic fields are going out of phase.

Yes, you’re right to gulp — Zharkova’s models run at a 93% success rate, and she was one of the few that correctly predicted solar cycle 24 would be weaker than cycle 23 — only 2 out of 150 models predicted this.

But what about the warming caused by CO2 emissions?

Well even if you believe all that hokum, Zharkova’s analysis still blows any ‘warming’ out of the water:

Even if the IPCC’s worst case scenarios are seen, that’s only a 1.5 watts per square meter increase. Zharkova’s analysis shows a 8 watts per square meter decrease in TSI to the planet.

Gulp again.

The cold times are returning, I’m afraid.

The Modern Maximum and the predictable warmth and weather it brought are over.

Cold temperature records continue to fall in 2018.

Early snowpack continues to build.

Glaciers continue to grow.

Chop some wood.

This happened before, during the periods between two Ice-ages. We are now turning towards the next ice-age. We best prepare ourselves for this, instead of global heating. Milankovic showed as te relevant parameters. James Hays, John Imbrie and Nicholas Shackleton proved he was right. Prof. V. Zharkova’s analyses show what is important en what is a hoax. Politicians stop following blindly te IPCC and see the facts !!
