‘Extreme Cold Weather Alert’ issued in Toronto as Multiple All-Time Low Temperature Records Fall

North America’s Arctic plunge isn’t just confined to the U.S., north of the border is also suffering — Canada’s Greater Toronto Area woke to a windchill of -20C (-4F) on Wednesday morning, the region’s second-straight day of record-breaking cold.

According to data from Environment Canada, the temperature at Pearson International Airport dropped to -13C (8.6F) (without the windchill) on Wednesday morning, smashing the previous all-time daily record low for Nov 13 of -9.6C (14.7F) set back in 1986 (solar minimum of cycle 21).

The area also broke its Nov 12 low temperature record on Tuesday — the observed -7.9C (18.3F) just pipped the old all-time daily low of -7.8C (18F) from way back in 1937.

Due to the dangerously low temps, the city of Toronto issued an extreme cold weather alert — the alert kicks crucial safety services into action; such as vulnerable residents being helped home, and the opening-up of a ‘warming center’ at Metro Hall.

Winter doesn’t begin until Dec 21, remember…

The lower-latitudes are refreezing in line with historically low solar activity.

Yes, a few far-northern areas like Alaska and the Arctic are warming –slightly– but 1) no one lives up there so quite frankly, who cares, and 2) as NASA succinctly identify in their ‘Maunder Minimum Temperature Reconstruction Map’ (below), these regions are expected to warm during periods of global cooling, as are the North Atlantic, Iceland and the southern tip of Greenland:

Temp change between 1780 (a year of normal solar activity) and 1680 (a year within the depths of the Maunder Minimum) — NASA.

And regarding any Arctic sea ice melt –and the potential consequences for sea level rise– again, a non-issue — at least 90% of the planet’s ice is safely locked up in Antarctica which, for as long as we can tell, has been steadily advancing, comfortably offsetting the comparatively tiny losses observed at its northern cousin.

Don’t be fooled by bogus political ideologies.

NASA has recently revealed this upcoming solar cycle (25) will be “the weakest of the past 200 years,” and they’ve correlated previous solar shutdowns to prolonged periods of global cooling here.

Prepare for the COLD — grow your own.
