The Village of Endicott in Broome County, New York remained in a State of Emergency on Sunday as snow removal efforts continued.
Endicott Police Chief Patrick Garey urged drivers to avoid the Village altogether: “It really increases the chances of an accident and also, all of the vehicles being out really impedes on snow removal operations,” he said.
Garey added that following the record-breaking snow, it took residents a lot longer to clear out their driveways than usual, and that goes for the village crews as they clear the streets in a slow, methodical manner.
Village Manager Anthony Bates says crews still have to get to the sidewalks and intersections, but insists that they have made a lot of progress.
National Guard crews also arrived two days ago to clear fire hydrants around the village.
“Outrageous” December snow buried parts of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast late last week:

Nearby Binghamton wound-up with a whopping 42 inches of snow, according to the NWS, smashing the city’s all-time two-day snowfall record:
Both NOAA and NASA appear to agree, if you read between the lines, with NOAA saying we’re entering a ‘full-blown’ Grand Solar Minimum in the late-2020s, and NASA seeing this upcoming solar cycle (25) as “the weakest of the past 200 years”, with the agency correlating previous solar shutdowns to prolonged periods of global cooling here.
Furthermore, we can’t ignore the slew of new scientific papers stating the immense impact The Beaufort Gyre could have on the Gulf Stream, and therefore the climate overall.
