Brisbane, Australia Records its Coldest October Day for 34 Years
Brisbane in Queensland, Australia recorded its coldest October day for over 34 years on Saturday, Oct 13 as the Grand Solar Minimum continues its intensification.
Toowoomba and Amerley recorded their lowest October temps since 1987.
And many more regions shivered through their coldest Oct day for 21 years, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
Cloud cover & patchy rain resulted in #SEQld shivering through a very cold October day today – some locations including #Brisbane & #Toowoomba had their coldest October day in about 30 years! #Brisbane was actually the coldest capital city in the country today! #Brrr pic.twitter.com/2Jwxhmbhwj

Preceding the record cold came fierce storms that ripped through parts of the state’s southeast.
The Queensland government is busy working to determine how much assistance is needed for homes and farms in the area.
The damage bill from Thursday’s storms is still being assessed but is expected to be hefty, with crops wiped out, animals killed and roofs torn from homes.
