Brazil Suffers [More] Record Breaking and “Extremely Rare” Summer Cold

The city of São Joaquim, in Serra Catarinense, has just busted the record for the number of summer frosts. Last week’s chill was the fourth frost of summer 2020, according to saojoaquimonline.com.

The record was registered at Vale do Caminhos da Neve, located 3km from the center of São Joaquim. According to the Keizer Station Network, the minimum temperature in the municipality dipped to 2C (35.6F), with the lowest temp in the state being the 0.9C (33.6F) at Urupema.

This was the second blast of severe cold to hit Brazil in the month of February, a phenomenon considered extremely rare by local meteorologist.

February in Florianópolis averaged out as the second coldest on record, coming close to the top spot–the 13.7C (56.7F) set back in 1987 (solar minimum of cycle 21).

The lower latitudes are refreezing in line with historically low solar activitycloud-nucleating Cosmic Rays, and a meridional jet stream flow.

Don’t fall for bogus political agendas — our future is one of ever-descending COLD.
