You’d forgive CO residents for thinking the climate was actually cooling!–But I’m sure they know better than to trust their own eyes and real-world observations — after all, it’s those ‘supercomputer-generated’ climate models that dictate reality, not natural variability, not the Sun… (sarc!).
The solar flare responsible for last night’s display may have only registered as an M-class (so much weaker than the X-Flare from the end of October), but there are other factors to consider when rating the potential atmospheric impact of a resulting CME.
Every Aussie state and territory registered temperatures cold enough for frost this week, as frigid polar air swept the continent. Plus, a minor solar flare just led to radio blackouts over Europe and Asia.
