135-year-old Snowfall Record Tumbles in New York

A 135-year-old snowfall record was broken in New York last weekend, with total accumulations surpassing 20 inches in some western parts of the state.

A daily record snowfall for Jan 19 was smashed last Saturday when 7.8 inches was deposited, beating the previous record of 6.3 inches set in 1884.

According to latest AccuWeather forecasts, the Arctic cold and snow are set to make a return Thursday and Friday this week.
